Women and men deserve equal rights in the work area. We are equal in the ability to complete at task given to us in the work place or at home !
We are UWU women. From dawn till dusk, we do essential work that everybody depends on. We’re coming together to demand SAFETY, EQUALITY & RESPECT.
Ā
Right now, one in two women will be sexually harassed, at the workplace or out in the community, and one woman is murdered each week by a current or former partner.
Ā
For every dollar a man earns, we earn just 78 cents. That means many UWU members will retire in poverty.
Ā
Mothers do DOUBLE the amount of housework and caring as our male partners.
And one in six women will leave the workforce early due to insufficient leave when we reach menopause.
This is not good enough.
UWU members are coming together to stand up for our rights and fight for change.
We believe ALL women deserve to be safe, equal and respected ā at work, at home and everywhere in between.

Women and men deserve equal rights in the work area. We are equal in the ability to complete at task given to us in the work place or at home !
Because we are all people and we all deserve equality and respect.
Only recognised the inequality when returning from maternity leave and discovered how difficult it is to organise shifts that allow for family care, as well as the lack of assistance in excelling/progressing in your career.
There should be equality in all spheres of life.
just because of my sex that doesn’t define who I am as a strong, independent woman
Iām due for retirement next year and although I have worked my whole adult life I will be retiring on borderline poverty but if I were a male who had done the same jobs as I have he would be retiring on a lot more savings than me.
Everyone should be treated equally
The disparity between women and men in so many arenas means women continue to fall behind in so many of the important things in life – career opportunities, health, financial security. I dont want this for my daughter.
I think if you do the same job you should get the same pay otherwise you are under valued as a person. A man would not stand for it if it was the other way around.
We should all be paid equal
Tired of being payed less because I am a female
Women rights are human rights
Because everyone should be treated fairly. Women need to be valued and recognised for the hard work they do and the role they play in society.
I work in childcare in female dominated industry and therefore I want equality and fair working wage and conditions.
Living in a house where women were seen but not heard and my dad making all the decisions including what my mother wore. I wasnt allowed out my brother was allowed to control my life
Gender equality is important to me because we all deserve to be paid the same wages and salary’s for equal role/positions in a workplace.
We should all get the same opportunities. If we do the same job, we should get the same pay.
To have fair treatment at our workplaces
Equality and equity in all things is union way. Union pride and equality for all in all things.
We see and read about abuses of power and they need to stop. Gender equity is union business
Because we are all human beings and God created us as one. and we all need the same treatment and respect for all.
We are all human and we all are facing same daily challenges. So should not be difference if male, female, old or young. We all do what we do to support our loved ones family friends even strangers. Equal opportunity and rights.
Because women are all time busy – at work and afterwards, in our homes.
because we are all deserving of value and respect, regardless of sex, language, race, religion. Inclusion is a right to freedom.
We need equal pay to men!
As a survivor of domestic violence female equality is very important to me
Due to there is still bullying by men and at times even worse by women, also there is still a 15% pay gap.
Woman should be more recognised, respected and acknowledged ššš¼
I work in the cybersecurity and IT industry. I know that many of my friends and colleagues who are not cis-male who are getting paid far less than peers. In one case my friend who was an Analyst and got promoted to team leader found out they were on 24k less than one of their former colleagues that they now led. This sort of situation is very common and is not acceptable.
I constantly see glass ceilings and different attitudes towards different genders in my workplace and Iām sick of it. I want to see change and I want to fight for the change.
Because I am a woman
We work just as hard as a male co workers, we deserve the same pay and recognition
I worry about retireing into poverty
