Everyone deserves to be valued and respected regardless of gender
We are UWU women. From dawn till dusk, we do essential work that everybody depends on. We’re coming together to demand SAFETY, EQUALITY & RESPECT.
Right now, one in two women will be sexually harassed, at the workplace or out in the community, and one woman is murdered each week by a current or former partner.
For every dollar a man earns, we earn just 78 cents. That means many UWU members will retire in poverty.
Mothers do DOUBLE the amount of housework and caring as our male partners.
And one in six women will leave the workforce early due to insufficient leave when we reach menopause.
This is not good enough.
UWU members are coming together to stand up for our rights and fight for change.
We believe ALL women deserve to be safe, equal and respected – at work, at home and everywhere in between.

Everyone deserves to be valued and respected regardless of gender
Well it’s simple we should be treated equally in all aspects of life and the workplace
to respect our opinion even just to listen to what we are saying and accept us as women.
Respect.
Same work, same pay.
Different bodies, different needs.
We work just as hard as the men, we should therefore be paid the same.
Equality is important to me because the job should not be based on our gender, it should be based on our qaulification and how we do the job. We need to stop dividing everyone by gender and be equal all the way. Time for fairness and equality.
I one of the women that left my career because of menopause
Females have less superannuation when they retire. It’s not fair or equitable
Because as a female, I earn less than a male doing the same work!
By valuing male dominated industries over female dominated ones, it sets an inequitable precedent that the work men do is more important to society than the work women do. However, I have seen time and time again that this is simply not the case.
Because I have worked hard my whole life but still won’t retire with enough super to support me
Daughter is studying to be a commercial pilot and I want her to be treated like an equal in a typically male dominated profession – Qantas male to female pilot ratios are unbelievably low.
The fastest growing cohort of the homeless is women over 55 years old. This is because of poverty.
For all the reasons you have mentioned.
I’m a women in the workforce, going through menopause, experienced sexual harassment & believe everyone should be treated & paid equally. I’ve been in positions of employment as a minority (female) and had to work twice as much with twice the productivity to recieve little recognition or pay increase or bonuses as my counterparts, while facing many of the female problems & raising kids without the support. It’s time women are supported sufficiently without the endless battles we face as we are the only ones that can bring the future into this world.
Equality is important because we are all human and we all desire the same rights.
Because woman work just as hard as any man
Because everyone deserves to be treated equally not according to gender
Everyone deserves to be given a fair go
I want my grand daughters to grow in a world that is fair and equitable. Where equal opportunity is a reality and no longer just an aspiration
Employees have rights to ask for pay raise if economic cost of living raise up.
I believe in FAIRNESS – it’s that simple!
I have a daughter who will no doubt struggle with the same equality problems I have faced in my life time if we don’t make a stand. Independence is important to becoming the person she wants to be and due to lower wages for women and the discrimination of women in certain working fields, I have been left with the jobs that are apparently suited more to women instead of my dream to further myself. I’d like to help stop that.
Woman work just as hard as males and as a human being we all should be treated and paid equally
Everyone should be treated as equal, as women work just as hard and carry the same workload as men.
We deserve equal pay!!
I have a daughter! I am a woman! I care about ALL women!
Important because we should be treated equally no matter what is our identity.
i believe men and women in the workforce are equal. Same job, same pay.
it’s important for all woman, who have many roles, to be recognized.
I believe that women work just as hard as men and men shouldn’t be paid any more than a woman doing the same job.
As a professional within the field of education, I, alongside my colleagues, hold significant sway over the impressionable minds of younger generations. I firmly believe that our role extends beyond imparting knowledge; rather, it encompasses the crucial task of instilling values of equality and fairness. This is vital as it lays the foundation for a just and inclusive society, fostering respect, understanding, and cooperation among individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Especially single income women, and women who live by themselves without any other means of support need to be treated fairly and equally.
Well it should be equal across the board no matter what gender you are
I actually want equity — not just equality. Women need extra paid leave to support their menstrual health, maternal health and menopausal health – 3 things men simply never have to think about, ever. I know we have to get equality first tho, baby steps, lol 😂🙃🙄😐
The same line of work/ the same start in finish time/ same location, we are all here to work, so we are all the same, and we should get paid the same. Period
Equality is crucial for everyone, regardless of gender. As a woman, it ensures you have the same opportunities, rights, and recognition as men, fostering a fair and inclusive society where your voice and contributions are valued.
To stand together – enough is enough
Because everyone deserves to be treated equally.
this is the 21st century there should be no difference between what you are paid just because of your gender.
I am a woman over 60 living in poverty. No super! No justice or equality or respect from both my workplaces
Because of all the falls I’ve had at schools & not enough safety plus no respect either
To be treated all the same
Because we are human being so we all deserve to be treated equally..
I was a single mother with no financial support from my child’s father. I worked full time to support us ! Equality is really important!
At work male employees dominate & are recognised/acknowledged & heard even though females are doing the same work or have higher credentials.
I work as hard as any male but still feel dejected in the fact that I don’t receive an equal payment
In the industry I work in, there is a 9 out of 10 preference for men over women. I feel I have to work harder to achieve the same level as my male colleagues.
We should all be treated equally.
Some women are the main bread winner.
